Ace Publications was founded by Peter Lyons in 1997.
Peter has extensive experience in
teaching Economics in secondary schools in New Zealand.
He has held a number of positions in New Zealand secondary
schools as Head of Department (Economics) and spent several
years lecturing at Auckland College of Education and Otago
University (Foundation Studies).
It was in his early years of teaching that Peter began looking
for ways to make the "Economics" classroom a more enjoyable
experience for both his students and himself. Peter began
creating his own texts and activities which not only fitted
the New Zealand syllabus but also encapsulated his flair
for humour and sense of fun.
Peter found that his students responded well to his range
of interactive activities, exercises, simulations and games
making the learning process a more enjoyable and memorable
experience for everyone. Students were able to apply these
fun exercises and case studies to real life situations and
were able to gain a good understanding of important economic
concepts.
Peter's texts and resources have been developed over his
many years of teaching and he continues to bring new ideas
and activities into the classroom. His texts and simulations
are used widely in secondary schools throughout New Zealand
and also in secondary schools and colleges internationally.
Peter Lyons has a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and
Accounting, a Diploma of Teaching and a Masters of International
Studies (Distinction).
